2024: Worcester MA - Custom 12' x 14' Trex Deck – Built for Style, Strength, and Longevity

CORE Remodeling Services designed and built this custom 12' x 14' deck with a focus on style, longevity, and code-compliant construction. The new outdoor space enhances both access and enjoyment, creating a seamless connection between the home and backyard while adding lasting value through thoughtful design and premium materials.

Project Overview

This deck remodel was carefully crafted to balance durability with timeless beauty — perfect for everyday use and seasonal entertaining. The wide central staircase provides an inviting entry, while the use of Trex Enhance Saddle Brown decking delivers a warm, natural wood tone with long-term performance and low maintenance.

Each board was installed with hidden fasteners to achieve a clean, smooth finish that showcases the craftsmanship behind the project. The white Trex Transcend railings with black round aluminum balusters create a crisp contrast, while the Saddle Brown drink rail top cap ties the entire look together, adding both functionality and style. Finishing touches include picture-framed edges around the deck and stairs for a refined appearance, and white PVC fascia, risers, and stringers secured with Cortex hidden screws to maintain a seamless, polished look.

Construction Details

CORE’s team ensured the deck met all safety and building code requirements. We reused existing 10-inch concrete footings that were still structurally sound and added two new footings where required for optimal support. The framing was built with pressure-treated lumber, following the approved structural design to ensure stability, durability, and long-term performance.

Storm Door Installation

To complete the project, the existing storm door was replaced with a ProVia Spectrum 291 full-view storm door in black (32" x 80"). The new door features a retractable screen, dual heavy-duty closers with an easy-set locking system, and matching black hardware with a full-length piano hinge for both function and elegance.

A Showcase of Quality Craftsmanship

This deck remodel reflects CORE Remodeling Services’ commitment to precision, performance, and beauty in every detail. From the premium composite materials to the meticulous finish work, every element was designed to deliver a high-quality, low-maintenance outdoor living space that will look beautiful for years to come.
