Southborough, MA – Basement Remodel
CORE Remodeling Services, Inc. transformed this Marlborough basement into a comfortable, energy-efficient lower-level living space designed for both recreation and fitness. A Mitsubishi ductless Hyper Heat pump system was installed, featuring one wall unit and two ceiling cassette units for zoned comfort throughout the space.
The exterior walls were insulated to code, and the basement was rough-framed, covered with plaster board, and finished to a smooth plaster surface. Closet interiors were completed in a textured finish, and a 2' x 2' panel drop ceiling was installed in the main living area for a clean, modern appearance.
The remodel also included three double doors and two single doors, with trim and base moulding matched to the home’s existing style. All doors were fitted with standard brushed nickel hardware, and closet interiors feature painted wood shelving for practical storage.
Custom built-in cabinets were installed under the stairway, complete with a custom top on the game room side, adding both functionality and character. Flooring includes E9959 Winter carpet and pad in the main living area and on the stairs, while the exercise areas feature interlocking rubber Amorim sports flooring, creating the perfect balance of comfort and durability.
