Mudroom Addition – Oakham, MA
Mudroom Addition – Oakham, MA
This Oakham, MA home gained both charm and functionality with a new mudroom addition. What was once an open porch has been fully enclosed and transformed into a practical entryway designed for everyday living.
We began by removing the old porch and framing the new mudroom according to the final architectural plans. The structure was seamlessly tied into the existing home with matching shingles and roofing details, creating a natural extension that looks original to the house. For durability and curb appeal, we installed a ProVia Spectrum Storm Door (36" x 80") and two sets of Vinyl Prime windows in complementary sizes, flooding the space with natural light.
Inside, the mudroom was finished with a striking tile floor in Montauk Black 12" x 12" tiles, paired with 6" x 72" black granite tiles and Raven grout for a sleek, modern look. To brighten the interior, we ran new wiring and installed five recessed lights with dimmer switches, giving the homeowners complete control over ambiance. Finally, new gutters and downspouts were added to ensure long-lasting protection and proper drainage.
The before-and-after photos tell the story best — this project took a simple covered porch and elevated it into a stylish, functional mudroom that enhances both curb appeal and everyday convenience.
